What is Ketamine Assisted Therapy?

Ketamine‑Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) combines the use of ketamine with psychotherapy to support emotional healing, reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, and help clients access deeper insight.

KAP includes:

  • Medical Screening

  • Preparation sessions

  • Guided ketamine experiences

  • Integration sessions

A minimum of 3 sessions are recommended.

What does the KAP preparation session look like?

Before your first ketamine session, you will meet with your therapist to:

  • Discuss your goals and intentions

  • Review what to expect

  • Learn grounding and coping strategies

  • Ask questions

What does a Ketamine session look like?

During a ketamine session:

  • You will take ketamine as prescribed (typically a lozenge or tablet)

  • Effects begin within 10–20 minutes and last 45–90 minutes

  • You may experience imagery, emotions, or shifts in perception

  • Your therapist will remain present to support your emotional and psychological safety

What does an integration session look like?

Within a few days after each ketamine session, you will meet with your therapist to:

  • Reflect on your experience

  • Explore insights or themes

  • Apply new perspectives to daily life
